Canon 5D Mark IV | Unboxing Video

The Canon 5D Mark IV is in! In this video, we unbox the Canon 5D Mark IV. This camera is the latest from the 5D series and brags with amazing image quality and performance.

Woah, stand back, this has a 30.4 MP full-frame CMOS sensor with dual-pixel AF and now captures 4K video!

It's using the Digic 6+ processor which gives better quality compared to it's predecessor, the Mark III.

It has a 61-point AF system and an ISO 100-32000, expandable to 102400.

Another very cool feature is the 1.62 million-dot 3.2" touchscreen which it didn't have before. In addition, Canon also improved the weather-sealing so this is great. In a nut shell, this long awaited bad boy was well worth it.

The Canon 5D Mark IV will be available at our store after Septermber 8th, 2016.

We've done a quick comparison of the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV's rolling shutter, compared with the EOS-1D X Mark II and the Sony a6300. The results are a little disappointing.

Obviously we've panned faster than you ever sensibly would, to make the difference clearer. Sadly the 5D IV's rolling shutter isn't nearly as well controlled as the 1D X Mark II's, instead looking very similar to the Sony a6300's 24p mode.

This guy has an exterior dimension of 13” width x 18” height and over 7” in depth. Inside the interiors measures 12.5”x 5.5” x 17”… what I'm saying is this guy is gigantic and this is going to hold all your photography equipment especially for you all that have G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome) you know who you are. I'm one of them too but guess what, this bag is also great if you're going to go on an all-day shoot or if you're going on vacation. It’s very well-constructed and you will notice how it has some of their signature purple and violet accents which gives it character.

With plenty of pockets and a really nice harness and waist connector, this nice and sturdy backpack is very reliable to take all your camera gear in. The handle is nice and very well padded. Inside the backpack has lots of access and you’ll notice how in the first pocket over here you can put some extra accessories and have some cleaning supplies. You have room for pens, small accessories, an area for a tablet and not to forget their rain cover in case you get caught in a huge downpour like we tend to have here in Florida.

Check out all these pockets. There's a pocket for your water bottle too. You have another pocket here on the side and this one I tend to put some cleaning supplies so I have my hurricane blower and my microfiber cloth right there handy. I don't want to put a lot of equipment here because this is where you're also going to be able to store your tripod and i'll show you how to hook that up. This is a nice feature, so you can take your tripod or monopod with you at all times. Now let's get to the back area for storage.

This guy opens from the rear which is a nice design because that way when you're wearing it you don't have the possibility of somebody sneaking up, opening up and removing your equipment. Look at this area where you can store your 13-inch laptop or Macbook Pro or even one of those newer high-resolution larger iPads and tablets that are in the market now. Notice this design, if I stand it up, stuff doesn't go flying out. If you open it up, you will see everything is very well padded.

The padding here's one that I removed because i had to fit some extra equipment. This area here has good padding as well with very well-defined velcro, so they did a nice job. Wow! Notice how you have plenty of room. To find out more watch the video. Don’t forget to check out the features below.

I got the call this morning that my Nikon 105mm F/1.4E ED Lens had arrived at Allen's Camera. While there I made a quick unboxing / sniff test video and took a few sample images to share.

Remember, this is just an unboxing video and the full on "Real World Review" will be coming in the future. In the meantime I must say the background at 1.4 gets completely obliterated.

After a quick look the images look sharp and colorful which is what i'm looking for. I didn't really think much about focus speed as I wasn't doing a review just yet.

The major question is has it been worth the wait? Let me run down what I think are the main specs.

Photo Specs
30.4 Megapixel CMOS Full Frame sensor up from 22.
Digic 6+ processor (The 1DX Mark II has duel)
ISO 100-32,000: This is slightly better than the 5D Mark III but keep in mind the megapixels went up to 30.4 which is why the ISO did not jump as high.
7 FPS is a nice feature. The issue is you only get 21 frames in a burst to CF and 19 to SD. How do you have a NEW camera and include one CF and not a CFast and a SD that's UHS1 not UHS2? This right here is a huge mistake that should never have happend.
3.2 inch full touch screen is ACE in my book.
61 AF points with 41 of them being CROSS type. This is the same one you find in the 1DX Mark II
Duel Pixel RAW which is super new and super interesting. The gist of it is that you may be able to do micro focus adjustments after the fact.
WIFI, NFC and GPS built in.
USB 3.0 Terminal

Video Specs
4K up to 30 FPS with a 1.74X Crop factory
Full DCI Cinema Resolution
29:50 of Recording
Motion JPEG Codec @ 500 megabits per second
NO 4k HDMI OUT!!!!!!
8mp still JPEG frames pulled form 4k. I guess this could come in handy somewhere.
Dual Pixel AF is AMAZING for video
WIFI App lets you control the entire camera from settings to focus to starting and stoping recording.

The camera is priced to sell at $3499 which is the same introductory price that the Canon 5D Mark III was and it will be available early September.

All and all this is a nice camera with some nice feature bumps and some minor head scratcher things. Will it be a good camera? We will get one in our hands and put it through the paces in a "Real World Review".

Is this camera better than the Nikon D810 and D500? Will lightroom be able to open the RAW files right off the rip? Is this the best camera for 4K or is Sony better?

Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000: The LARGEST Most Expensive Printer I’ve Sat On

Canon has been challenging Epson in the inkjet game for the last few years all while HP has officially dropped out. This Pro-4000 is the bigger brother to the Pro-1000 which i've been using for almost a year.

From what we're told the Pro-4000 is a Pro-1000 on steroids. If that's the case it's going to give fantastic BIG ASS PRINTS.

The Pro-4000 is a 44 inch wide 11 ink + 1 Chroma Optimizer Inkjet printer. This means you can print 44 inch wide prints by however long the roll of paper is. If you need a larger printer you can go with the Pro-6000 which can handle 60 inch wide paper but has less inks.

The version that was sent to me has the Multifunction Roll System which means I can have two rolls on the machine and the printer will be able to switch between whatever papers you have installed. This is great if you spool print jobs and need some Glossy and others Matte for example.

This set up clicks in at just under $6,000 with the optional multifunction roll system and $5,000 without it. The inks come in three different sizes 160 / 330 and 700 mL and are priced at $97 / $173 / $294

We will be doing a "Real World Review" of this printer as soon as we have it set up. Since the print quality will be similar to the Pro-1000 we will focus on the functions that make the Pro-4000 unique. I am thinking we will do sample prints from multiple DSLR's. The Canon 5DSr, Canon 1DX Mark II, Nikon D5 and the rumored Canon 5D Mark IV if it turns out to be a real camera.

Let me tell you, his photos do not scream hobbyist. They are on point, well composed, edited and captured.

The only feedback I had for the website itself was the old instagram photo on the about page and the fact that the blog was there but nothing was on it.
