If you've been waiting to shoot and edit RAW on your Apple device the wait is almost over. Apple has announced that iOS10 will support RAW. Meaning you will be able to shoot and edit RAW files inside applications. http://froknowsphoto.com/breaking-news-ios10-will-support-raw/
We don't know a lot just yet but what we do know is that app developers will be able to build the ability to shoot and edit RAW files right into their applications.
If you have an iphone 6s, 6s plus or apple ipad pro 9.7 inch you can use the back camera (the one facing away from you) to shoot RAW + Jpeg. The RAW files will be Adobe DNG format which is awesome!!!!
There was no word yet on how apples native photo app will incorporate RAW but when we have more information we will share it with you.
One of the PROS to shooting RAW with your iPhone is that you will get more data to work with. One of the CONS of shooting RAW on your iPhone is that you have more DATA. Remember, I ALWAYS SHOOT RAW, storage is cheap.
Should the camera manufacturers be scared, I don't think so. I think this is a chance to show people the power of photography and hopefully grow them into a DSLR or Mirrorless camera in the future.
This is HUGE awesome news and I am excited to see how it turns out.
